Our school aims to provide innovative and practical education through the integration of teaching resources, upgraded industrial and academic research and development. We focus preparing graduates with comprehensive biotechnology knowledge, and management experience. In recent years we have made significant progress in our research and development. Examining our qualification rate concerning the Higher Grade Civil Service Examination and the General Grade Civil Service Examination on vocational technology, our school has gradually increased its qualification rate year by year. Recently, the rate for nurses was 88.26% (the average national qualified rate was 40.29%), nursing personnel 87.22%(the average national qualified rate was 41.11%), medical technologist 47.54% (the average national qualified rate was 28.15%), and our medical radiologists have won the first, second and the third places on the national examination with a qualification passing rate of 67.40%(the average national qualified rate was 39.01%), the grade on the four items was on the top of the ratings among national vocational colleges.
On the other hand, our school has also actively upgraded our service levels and industrial-academic cooperation so we were honorably authorized by Taichung City Government to operate the Folklore House of the Taichung Bureau of Culture Folklore Park. So far, we have completed itemized descriptions of eight hundred pieces of cultural products, tour guidance of cultural products, and digitalization for collection, etc., programs. We also operate the Takun Community College of Taichung City, and we won the best ranking on the operation achievement at the first term. We have had the pleasure to set up the ¡§ Central Taiwan Community Art Education School ¡¨ by National Taiwan Art Education Hall from January 2003 on. On November 18 and 19, 2003, the Taichung City Government further assigned our school to coordinate with professors, experts, scholars and community opinion leaders to help the city government to hold a ¡§National Ecology Seminar¡¨ to plan the sustaining development of the ¡§Takun Scenic Area¡¨. In 2004, we executed the ¡§Healthy Living Community ¡V Loving heart program ¡¨; ¡§Healthy Space Creation Program ¡V Nantun Healthy Recreation Cultural Street Walking New Community¡¨; ¡§Epidemiology Research on Taiwanese Women's Osteoporosis Problems ¡V Take Taichung City and Hualien City as an example¡¨, etc., to combine research and service and to upgrade the medical and nursing technical professional image of our school.
Since Mr. Chen Fu-Du took up the dean post in 2004, he has kept upgrading our educational system, especially focusing on tradition and creativity, connecting the local to the international, combining technology and humanity, and taking expertise and personal character into consideration. These are the four guiding principles used to structure an educational environment with a goal towards the construction of a technological humanity and social services park.
Area goals for the immediate future are: Central Taiwan University campus ¡V strengthen up the basic teaching, professional course training and research facilities.
Takun Community College area ¡V strengthen up the work study program and extended education service.
Folklore Park area ¡V offer a humane history research space and the start of community art school.
Electronicalized web area ¡V integrate the information and provide automatic environment to reinforce the academic research and information application functions.
Our school is located within the famous Takun Scenic Spot of Taichung city with the Kuanyin Mountain as a backdrop and the Tali Creek in the foreground. Whether you are arriving from the Taichung Train Station or the Freeway, exit at Chung Ching Road or Chung Kang Road intersection. It only takes 25 minutes to reach us. Our school is both easily accessible and surrounded by natural beauty making this an excellent location to pursue academic excellence.
